Regression hypnotherapy — meeting the moment that started the pattern
Most patterns we struggle with as adults were learned for good reasons by someone much younger. Regression hypnotherapy is not about reliving the past for drama. It is the careful tracing of a current symptom — a fear, a block, a self-defeating loop — back to the moment the subconscious wrote the original rule, so the rule can finally be revised with everything you know now.
The reframe: Fundamental Peace
From ICEF / FP20, regression work serves Inner Wisdom and Sense of Self. The adult arrives, with all their current resources, into a moment where a younger self made the only meaning available at the time. The body experiences the missing protection, the missing words, the missing acknowledgement. The pattern then has somewhere to go besides repetition. This is not memory archaeology. It is repair.

The recurring relationship script. The disproportionate reaction to a small trigger. The feeling that life keeps testing you on the same exam.
The patterns repeating are the subconscious's persistent attempts to finish unfinished business. They are not the enemy. They are a request for attention.
A present-tense life no longer secretly run by an earlier self. Compassion, not contempt, for who you had to become.
The practice
The 'When did this first feel familiar?' inquiry — 10 minutes
Choose one current pattern you would like to understand — not change yet, just understand.
Sit quietly, close your eyes, three slow breaths. Bring the pattern gently to mind. Notice where you feel it in the body.
Ask silently: 'When did this first feel familiar?' Do not search. Wait. The subconscious answers when it is not being interrogated — usually with an image, an age, a room, a tone of voice.
Whatever arrives, simply acknowledge it. 'I see you. Thank you for showing me.' Place a hand where you feel the pattern. Breathe with it for a minute.
Open your eyes. Write down what came, without analysis. Repeat over several days. Patterns that have been seen for years rarely have to be seen for years more.
When to seek more support
Regression work should not be attempted alone if your pattern is rooted in trauma, abuse, or severe loss. Please work with a trauma-trained hypnotherapist, ideally in coordination with a therapist. Self-inquiry is for noticing; deep regression is for the consulting room.
Frequently asked
Is regression hypnotherapy about past lives?
Not as Luis practises it. The work is about this lifetime, this nervous system, and the moments where current patterns first took shape. Practitioners who frame it otherwise are doing a different thing.
Can my memories be wrong?
Memory is reconstructive. A serious practitioner treats what arises as material to be worked with, not as forensic testimony. The goal is healing, not adjudication.
How is this different from talk therapy?
Talk therapy reflects with the conscious mind. Regression hypnotherapy reaches the subconscious where the pattern was originally laid down. They make excellent partners.
