ICEF · Target state

Fundamental Peace

Fundamental Peace is not the absence of difficulty — it is a measurable neuro-experiential state characterised by four interlocking capacities. It is the calibrated target of the Integrated Consciousness Evolution Framework, validated against the Triple Network Model and calibrating at approximately 600 on Hawkins' Map of Consciousness.

Gallardo & Chetri (2026), Behavioral Sciences.

Four components

01

Flexible Attentional Control

The capacity to direct and re-direct attention without effortful suppression — a balanced engagement of the Executive Control Network and Salience Network. Operationalised as FP20 items 1–5.

02

Emotional Coherence Across Self-States

Stable felt-sense across roles, contexts, and time. A signature of healthy Default Mode Network integration, low autobiographical fragmentation. FP20 items 6–10.

03

Reduced Self-Referential Rigidity

Loosening of compulsive self-narrative — what contemplative traditions call non-grasping. Correlates with decreased DMN dominance during rest. FP20 items 11–15.

04

Compassionate Self-Awareness

Meta-cognitive warmth toward one's own experience — the practical hinge between insight and behaviour change. FP20 items 16–20.
