Hypnotherapy for stress — teaching the body it is allowed to land

Stress is not the meeting. It is what your body did with the meeting six hours after it ended. For many people, the original pressure has long since passed and the system is still wired tight, scanning, anticipating, unable to put the day down. Hypnotherapy works precisely on that residual wiring — the loop that keeps the alarm on long after the room is quiet.

The practice

The 4-7-8 Reset — a 90-second nervous-system shift

  1. Sit or stand. Place one hand on your belly. Let your shoulders drop.

  2. Exhale fully through the mouth with a soft sigh — empty out completely.

  3. Inhale quietly through the nose for a count of 4.

  4. Hold the breath gently for a count of 7.

  5. Exhale through the mouth, with sound, for a count of 8. Repeat the cycle three more times — four cycles in total. The body will tell you it has shifted.

When to seek more support

If stress has tipped into burnout, panic attacks, or persistent insomnia, please add clinical support to the picture. Hypnotherapy is excellent for the patterns; medicine and therapy together address what those patterns have already cost the body.

Frequently asked

How is this different from meditation?

Overlapping but distinct. Meditation trains attention; hypnotherapy uses focused attention to deliberately update specific subconscious patterns. Both can be part of the same life.

Will I become 'too relaxed' to perform?

No. The aim is regulation, not sedation. A regulated nervous system performs better, not worse, under pressure.

How long until I notice change?

Most clients report a softer baseline within three to six sessions of weekly work, combined with the daily practice.
