Lorena is one of those women whose intelligence and creativity light up any space she enters. Passionate, driven, and full of ideas, she had everything going for her—except for one private struggle she had kept hidden for years: the compulsive habit of biting her nails.

Behind closed doors, Lorena felt a deep anger and guilt in her chest every time she lost control. "Why can't I stop?" she would ask herself, frustrated by how such a small act could feel so powerful, and how powerless she felt in return. She longed to be free—not just of the habit, but of the invisible emotional chains that seemed to bind her to it.

When she came to hypnotherapy, we didn’t just work on stopping the behavior. We went deeper. Through trance, we gently journeyed back to her childhood— to the roots of the emotional storm that lived inside her.

There, she met her younger self. A little girl with tender hands, trying to make sense of a world that often felt overwhelming and unfair. In the session, Lorena realized that her anger wasn’t really about the nails—it was about the emotional instability she had witnessed growing up, particularly in her father, and before him, her grandfather.

Both men, despite their love, had modeled anger as a response to life’s difficulties, leaving little Lorena frightened and unsure of how to process emotions in a healthy way. Through a powerful Gestalt-style dialogue under trance, she found the courage to speak to her father and grandfather, expressing what had never been said aloud:

"When you were angry, I felt scared. I didn’t know what to do. I thought it was my fault."

And something beautiful happened.

In this sacred space, we facilitated healing for her father and grandfather, helping them connect with their own pain, their own silence, and ultimately their love for her. As they softened, so did she. The guilt began to dissolve. The anger transformed into understanding.

Little Lorena—no longer afraid—stood tall in her inner world. She began to remember who she truly was.

“I used to love painting my nails orange,” she whispered during the session, smiling. “All kinds of beautiful colors… like little pieces of art.”

That memory became her anchor, a symbol of her creativity, joy, and freedom. The orange nails—once hidden beneath the weight of shame—now became her expression of self-love and her gateway to a limitless life.

After the session, Lorena didn't just stop biting her nails. She began to nurture herself. She walked taller. She spoke softer to herself. She painted her nails again, this time not to cover up, but to celebrate the woman she had become.

Today, Lorena is a living example that healing is possible when we go to the root. That our symptoms are not flaws, but invitations. And that with compassion, guidance, and a safe space, even the smallest habit can lead us to the most profound transformation.

🧡 May her story inspire others to look inward and reclaim the brilliance that’s always been there.
