Sarah’s Journey to Emotional Stability and Self-Love

Sarah, a well-known influencer, came to me overwhelmed by high levels of anxiety. Despite her picture-perfect online persona—always smiling and portraying an enviable life—she confessed to feeling deeply unfulfilled. She yearned for emotional stability, genuine relationships, and a romantic partner who could truly see and support her. Beneath her confident exterior was a profound struggle rooted in feelings of inadequacy, shame, and fear.

Initial Behaviors and Beliefs

Sarah exhibited behaviors and thoughts that revealed her inner turmoil:

  • Behaviors:

    • Constantly smiling to mask her pain.
    • Lacking confidence despite external success.
    • Struggling to form meaningful relationships.
    • Feeling as though people were often mad at her or disappointed.
  • Feelings:

    • Anxiety, overwhelm, and shame dominated her emotional state.
    • She longed for confidence, comfort, and a sense of stability.
  • Beliefs:

    • "I’m not enough."
    • "Other people have it easier."
    • "I have to fix everything."
    • "I’m always rushing, like there’s a gun to my head."
    • "I can’t afford to make mistakes."

Her narrative was shaped by a painful early history: Sarah had been adopted at just two weeks old by parents who loved her but struggled with their own issues. Her biological parents, teenagers at the time, gave her up for adoption because they couldn’t afford to care for her. This sense of being unwanted left a deep mark on her psyche, compounded by an emotionally distant adoptive mother and a highly emotional father.

The Hypnotherapy Journey

During our hypnotherapy session, we regressed to a memory Sarah had never consciously accessed before: being cradled in her biological mother’s arms as a newborn. For the first time, she felt the deep, unconditional love her mother had for her, despite the impossible decision to give her up. This moment unlocked a flood of emotions.

We explored the beliefs Sarah had formed over the years:

  1. Anger and Control (Throat):

Sarah carried a hidden anger toward herself and others, feeling it was wrong to express it. This led her to constantly seek control to avoid failure. In hypnosis, we worked to release this anger, reframing it as a protective mechanism that no longer served her. 2. Pressure and Perfectionism (Chest):

Sarah felt a heavy weight on her chest, tied to the belief that she needed to be the "best version" of herself at all times. We released this pressure by helping her understand that being human means embracing imperfection. 3. Fear and Vulnerability (Stomach):

Her stomach was a reservoir of fear, tied to a sense of impending doom and the belief that she had to run away from vulnerability. By revisiting moments of safety and security, Sarah replaced this fear with a sense of groundedness. 4. Judgment and Comparison:

Sarah constantly judged herself against others, comparing her life to the curated perfection she saw online. We worked to dissolve this habit, helping her see her unique journey as valid and beautiful.

The Transformation

As Sarah progressed through the session, she began to reframe her identity:

  • Old Feelings: Anxiety, overwhelm, and shame were replaced with confidence, comfort, and pride in herself.

    • "I am perfect as I am."
    • "I am balanced and abundant."
    • "I am confident, compassionate, and natural."

Through visualization and inner dialogue, Sarah forgave her biological and adoptive parents, recognizing their struggles and limitations. She embraced her emotions, including anger, as valid expressions of her human experience.

After the session, Sarah reported feeling lighter and more connected to herself. She noticed changes in her daily life:

  • She felt calmer and more confident when interacting with her followers.
  • Her relationships deepened, as she no longer sought validation from others.
