In my work as a hypnotherapist, I have the privilege of witnessing profound transformations. Recently, I worked with a client, Dorota, who sought help to overcome a recurring pattern in her relationships. She found herself repeatedly attracting men who were unavailable emotionally or betrayed her trust, leaving her feeling inadequate, unworthy, and judged. This cycle was wearing down her self-esteem and led her to believe that she was simply "not enough" for these partners.

Despite her desire for a loving, committed relationship, Dorota faced a painful pattern: she was subconsciously drawn to powerful, successful men who, over time, would betray her loyalty. Her relationships became a constant source of anxiety and pain, and the cycle only reinforced her feelings of inadequacy and distrust. Dorota was at a crossroads—ready to break free from this pattern and start anew, with a sense of self-worth that was resilient and whole.

The Root of Dorota’s Pain: A Childhood Trauma Uncovered

Through our hypnotherapy session, we uncovered a deeply buried memory from when Dorota was just six years old. Her beloved dog, a companion and source of unconditional love, was killed by her mother, without any explanation or warning. Dorota was devastated by this event, as her mother, father, and grandfather all supported this decision, but none took the time to explain it or prepare her for such a painful loss. Dorota wasn’t given the chance to say goodbye, and her family’s secrecy left her feeling betrayed, unheard, and undervalued.

In that moment, the seed of mistrust was planted—a feeling that those closest to her could turn against her, that her heart could be broken without a second thought, and that her emotions were dismissed rather than nurtured. This unhealed childhood trauma laid the groundwork for Dorota’s later belief that she wasn’t enough, that her desires and needs were secondary, and that betrayal was inevitable.

Processing the Trauma: Grieving, Forgiving, and Releasing

During our session, we gently guided Dorota back to that pivotal moment to allow her to fully process the grief and heartbreak she had experienced but never expressed. She relived the pain of that betrayal, feeling the weight of her dog’s loss and the sorrow of not being valued or given a voice in the decision.

Through regression, we created a safe space for Dorota to grieve and to communicate with her younger self, offering the compassion and validation she had longed for as a child. She expressed her anger, disappointment, and hurt to her mother, father, and grandfather—emotions that had been suppressed for years. We facilitated a powerful dialogue that allowed Dorota to confront these figures in her life, addressing the pain they had caused and opening the door for forgiveness.

With each interaction, she was able to release resentment and understand that their actions, though hurtful, were not a reflection of her worth. This newfound understanding enabled Dorota to see the traumatic event from a broader perspective and forgive her family, ultimately freeing herself from the grip of past pain.

Reprogramming Beliefs: From Self-Doubt to Self-Trust

As we worked through her memories and emotions, we also addressed the core beliefs that had become deeply ingrained in her psyche. These beliefs included:

  • “I’m not enough.” → Replaced with: “I am more than enough and deserving of loyalty and love.”
  • “I’m unworthy.” → Replaced with: “I am worthy of respect, trust, and devotion.”
  • “I’m always judged.” → Replaced with: “I am seen, heard, and valued just as I am.”

Each belief was reprogrammed with affirmations and positive associations that resonated with her adult self. These new beliefs were reinforced with feelings of calm, gratitude, certainty, compassion, and empowerment. Dorota began to feel validated and deserving, reconnected to her authentic self—a woman capable of setting boundaries, attracting the right kind of love, and fully embracing life.

Emotional and Physical Transformation

Through our work together, Dorota released the bitter emotions she had carried for so long. She reported feeling:

  • Anxiety and fear replaced by security and relaxation.
  • Pain in her solar plexus that radiated to her back released into gratitude.
  • Anger transformed into compassion.
  • Fear melted away, replaced by a profound sense of self-certainty.

By the end of our sessions, Dorota had not only healed from the trauma of her past but had also begun a new relationship with herself, grounded in love, respect, and resilience. She no longer felt the need to settle or compromise her values for anyone who couldn’t meet her emotionally. She had, at last, found peace in her relationship with herself and had let go of the old patterns that had held her back.

Moving Forward with Confidence and Self-Worth

Dorota’s transformation was a testament to the power of addressing and healing childhood trauma in the subconscious mind. By releasing these old wounds, she opened herself to the possibility of a loving, loyal relationship. She was no longer defined by her past but empowered to create the future she desired. Hypnotherapy enabled her to reclaim her worth and step forward into a new life filled with confidence, love, and the deep knowledge that she is, and always was, enough.

For anyone struggling with patterns that seem impossible to break, know that change is within reach. With compassion, patience, and the willingness to explore the depths of the subconscious, true healing is possible. And like Dorota, you too can rewrite your story, free from the past, and embrace a life of love, fulfillment, and joy.
