“I Finally Make Sense to Myself” – A Hypnotherapy Success Story About Validation, Soul Contracts & the Journey Across Lifetimes

When Emma (not her real name) first came to see me, she sat on the edge of the chair like someone ready to run.

“I’ve tried everything,” she said quietly. “Talking therapy, coaching, books. I’m still stuck. And honestly… I just need to know I’m not crazy.”

That last sentence held all the weight.

Underneath her anxiety and exhaustion, Emma was searching for one core thing:

Validation.

Validation that her feelings made sense.

Validation that her pain had a story.

Validation that her inner experiences – including strange “memories” that felt like other lives – weren’t just her imagination turning on her.

In hypnotherapy, especially when we work with soul contracts and journeys across multiple lives and states of consciousness, validation becomes the bridge between confusion and healing.

This is Emma’s story.

The Pain Behind the Present Life

On paper, Emma’s life looked “fine.”

She had a stable job, a partner who cared about her, a roof over her head.

Inside, she felt:

  • Deep, unexplained guilt

  • Irrational fear of “letting people down”

  • A constant pressure to be perfect

  • A strange, lifelong sense that she had “failed” at something important – but had no idea what

She also shared that she sometimes had vivid dreams and flashes:

  • Standing on a battlefield, feeling responsible for men who died

  • Being a woman in a different century, forced to give up a child

  • Living alone in a small house in the countryside, choosing isolation over relationships

They weren’t just dreams. They came with intense emotion and physical reactions: racing heart, tears, tightness in her chest.

In traditional conversations, whenever she tried to talk about these experiences, she was met with:

  • “You’re overthinking.”

  • “It’s just stress.”

  • “Maybe it’s just your imagination.”

Each time, a door inside her closed a little more.

Why Validation Matters So Much

The first step in Emma’s healing was not hypnosis.

It was validating her internal reality.

Validation doesn’t mean I, as a hypnotherapist, “prove” anything about past lives or insist on any belief system.

Instead, it means:

  • Your experience is real to you.

  • Your emotions are valid and deserve attention.

  • Your inner world has meaning, even if we can’t measure it with a scanner or a lab test.

When Emma heard, “I believe you’re having these experiences, and we can explore them safely,” her shoulders dropped.

Her nervous system finally had permission to soften.

That moment of validation was the doorway into deeper work.

Enter Soul Contracts: A Different Perspective on Old Pain

Emma felt a strong pull toward the idea of soul contracts – the belief that, at a soul level, we may agree to certain lessons, relationships, or challenges across multiple lives.

Again, this isn’t something I present as absolute fact.

Instead, I use it as a healing framework when it resonates with the client.

For Emma, it did. Completely.

Under hypnosis, we gently followed the emotion rather than the story. We let her body lead:

  • The tightness in her chest led us to the battlefield.

  • The deep ache in her heart guided us to a life where she lost a child.

  • The heaviness in her shoulders brought us to the secluded cottage, where she chose isolation to avoid hurting anyone again.

In each scene, we explored:

  • What was happening?

  • What choices did she make?

  • What did she believe about herself in that moment?

And then the soul contract piece became clearer.

She realized there was a repeating theme:

“I must carry everyone’s pain. If anyone suffers, it’s my fault. I deserve to be punished or alone so others can be safe.”

From a soul contract perspective, it was like she had agreed to explore responsibility, accountability, and power – but the contract had become distorted into lifetimes of self-blame.

The Healing Power of Perspective Across Lifetimes

One of the most powerful aspects of exploring multiple lives (whether you see them as literal past lives or symbolic stories from the subconscious) is perspective.

In trance, Emma was able to:

  • Step out of the role of the suffering character

  • Observe her lives from a higher, wiser part of herself

  • See the patterns rather than just the pain

From this higher perspective, she began to notice:

  • On the battlefield, she did everything she could. She wasn’t a “failure”; she was human in an impossible situation.

  • As the mother forced to give up her child, she acted from love and survival, not malice.

  • In the isolated cottage, her choice to stay alone came from fear, not from truth – and she could now see how unnecessary that self-exile was.

This broader view allowed her to ask new questions:

  • What if I’m not here to be punished, but to learn?

  • What if the contract was never “I must suffer,” but “I will understand responsibility without losing myself?”

  • What if I can update that contract now?

That shift in perspective was the turning point.

Renegotiating the Soul Contract

In a later session, we invited Emma’s “higher self” – the wise, compassionate, expansive part of her – to help her renegotiate the old contract.

In trance, she expressed:

“I release the belief that I must carry everyone else’s pain.

I keep the wisdom: I am caring, responsible, and compassionate.

But I choose a new agreement: I am allowed to be human, to make mistakes, and to still be worthy of love.”

We integrated this new agreement using hypnotic suggestion and guided imagery, anchoring it into her body:

  • Breathing out guilt and breathing in permission

  • Feeling a lightness in her chest instead of tightness

  • Imagining the old contract dissolving and a new one being written from her higher self

Again, the key was not whether a literal parchment in some cosmic hall was rewritten.

The key was that her nervous system believed the shift.

Her body, mind, and soul all got the same message:

“I am no longer under the old sentence.”

Coming Back to This Life: Real-World Changes

In the weeks that followed, Emma started noticing subtle but meaningful shifts:

  • She stopped apologizing for things that weren’t her fault.

  • She felt less triggered by “disappointing” others.

  • She found it easier to say, “I need some time for myself,” without drowning in guilt.

  • The recurring battlefield and abandonment dreams faded, then disappeared.

Most importantly, she reported:

“It’s like my life finally makes sense.

The feelings I carry aren’t random anymore.

I can see the bigger picture, and I don’t feel crazy. I feel… understood. By myself.”

That is the power of validation + perspective.

The Role of Hypnotherapy in Journeys Across Lives & States

Hypnotherapy, especially when it includes past life or soul-level work, can support people like Emma by:

  • Validating their inner experiences, instead of dismissing them

  • Providing a safe, guided framework to explore intense emotions and images

  • Allowing access to different states of consciousness where patterns become clearer

  • Offering a way to reframe old stories, emotionally and energetically, not just intellectually

  • Helping clients create new agreements, internally and spiritually, that support healing

It’s not about proving who you were in another lifetime.

It’s about letting your subconscious – and, if you believe in it, your soul – tell you what you need to heal now.

If You Recognise Yourself in Emma’s Story

You might relate to Emma if:

  • You carry deep guilt, fear, or shame that doesn’t quite “fit” your current life story

  • You have vivid dreams, images, or sensations that feel like they belong to another time or place

  • You’re drawn to the idea of soul contracts, but you also want grounded, therapeutic support

  • You’re craving someone to simply say, “You’re not crazy. Your experience matters.”

If so, hypnotherapy that honours both psychological and soul-level perspectives may be a powerful path for you.

You deserve:

  • Validation, not dismissal

  • Perspective, not confusion

  • A sense of meaning, not random suffering

And most of all, you deserve to feel what Emma now says with quiet confidence:

“I may have lived many stories, but I’m finally the author of this one.”
