The world we live in is a world filled with problems that need fixing. There’s a lot of inequality, violence, and unhappiness. However, we should add that there is still a lot of happiness in it as well as prosperity.

The problem lies in the fact that there are all of these numerous conditions for a better, happier, more prosperous world, but we lack the consciousness needed to mold such a world fully.

Many of us have the potential to be the leaders who will change the world for the better. What we lack is pure self-awareness. That’s what Jaggi Vasudev, better known as Sadhguru, wants to teach us. His Isha Foundation was created to provide that heightened self-awareness that we all need to make a difference in the world.

Sadhguru and the Isha Foundation

For those who don’t know him, Sadhguru is an enlightened Indian mystic, author, and yogi. His awakening came to a lot earlier, and he has been trying to provide that exceptional level of self-awareness and enlightenment through his yoga teaching to whoever needs it.

Sadhguru truly started his journey at the age of 25 when he sat on a rock where he had a spiritual experience. It’s probably a lot more than that, but there are no words to describe what he felt. He said: “I thought it lasted for ten to fifteen minutes but when I came back to my normal consciousness, it was about four-and-a-half-hours I was sitting there, fully conscious, eyes open, but time had just flipped.”

He says that his feelings were that he was no longer himself and wasn’t contained in his body anymore – he was everywhere. He admits it sounds a bit insane, but he couldn’t help the mind-boggling feeling he had within the 15 minutes of sitting there, meditating.

He left the business he had and started traveling and meditating extensively. He finally decided that he needed to bring the feeling closer to everyone else, which is why he began teaching yoga.

Sadhguru eventually founded the Isha Foundation with that same goal in mind. Many years later, the foundation is vast with 200 centers all around the world and more than two million volunteers.

The center he began is accepting of everyone seeking betterment and enlightenment. It’s open to all religions and all ethnicities. Sadhguru knows that enlightenment is for everyone and the entire world deserves prosperity and happiness.

He wrote his book Inner Engineering: A Yogi’s Guide to Joy to present a path for the readers to achieve the well-being and happiness they deserve.

It’s crucial for all of us who want to become better and happier people to learn from those who have already found the awakening they were seeking and are ready to impart those teaching onto others.
